Poppy

Annual Poppy Campaign

Tag Day

Was held on October 31th with the assistance of the Girl Guides of Canada, 15th Lethbridge Scouting , Lethbridge District 4H, #11 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Corp, #2296 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp, #34 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corp, and the #50 Navy League Cadet Corp.

Wreaths

Are available for purchase by businesses, organizations and the general public. Some who purchased wished that their wreath be laid on their behalf. A card was attached to the wreath with the name of purchaser and all were placed near the cenotaph on November 10th. Immediately following the downtown Remembrance Service the wreaths were moved to the cenotaph for viewing and to allow those in attendance to place a poppy on them if they wished. On the morning of November 12th the wreaths were removed from the cenotaph and placed on veterans graves in Mountain View Cemetery where they remain.

Attention Volunteers

We are very grateful to the many volunteers, citizens, businesses, and organizations who contributed to this year’s very successful campaign.

The poppy committee is always seeking help from our Legion Members, especially Remembrance in November. If you can be of assistance please contactPat. at legionpoppy@shaw.ca
